The Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail Connections

The Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath is also a major component of the Ohio to Erie Trail. The growing 326-mile trail network will eventually span Ohio from the shores of Lake Erie in Cleveland to the Ohio River in Cincinnati.
But there are many Connections to other local trails in NE Ohio

After Canal Basin Park you can find several Cleveland Lakefront Trails - Interactive Map One nice paved trail "Red Line Trail" runs from Columbus Rd-Centennial Lake Link Trail to W 65th St

At Scranton Flats in Cleveland, the trail meets the Cleveland Foundation Centennial Lake Link Trail

At the Harvard Ave turn on Canal Towpath Trail you can go straight and meet the Treadway Creek Trail that goes up to Harmody Park and then connects to Brighton Trail and to the Cleveland Zoo.

In Cuyahoga Hts, the trail meets the Washington Reservation All Purpose Trail

Between Cuyahoga Hts and Akron the towpath runs through the Cuyahoga Valley National Park

Within the National Park,the trail meets the Brecksville Reservation All Purpose Trail, The Hemlock Creek Trail and Metro Parks Valley Parkway
Heading east is a 2 mile safe road connection Connector to the 32 mile Akron-Bike/Hike Trail
and the Bedford Reservation

In Akron there is Access to the Akron Freedom Trail at E Mill St

Near Canal Fulton, the Old Muskingum Trail parallels the towpath trail (on the opposite side of the canal)

In Massillon, the trail meets the Sippo Valley Trail This is where the Ohio to Erie Trail leaves the The Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath.

At the trail's southern endpoint, it continues as the Zoar Valley Trail
