The 3 hour drive was all on 2 lane roads with very little traffic. We arrived at noon so we went directly to their Discover Center which had a nice movie and museum showing why they built the canal that made Augusta a great textile area in the 1800\u2019s. More pictures of the Mill, Canal and Bike Path area are on this great <a href=\"http:\/\/augustacanal.com\/AC\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">website<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">.<\/span>\u00a0 There are some great 360<sup>o<\/sup> panoramic views and historic photos on that site. We again stayed overnight at a local Walmart.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/--PPtX99PHrc\/WhGmjW3DbEI\/AAAAAAAAGYw\/COdOyxsE7BIojN3tymdQKyyW5yy6NMztgCHMYCw\/s1600-h\/TowpathTrail%2BAugusta%255B4%255D\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline; float: left; margin: 0px 10px 0px 0px;\" title=\"TowpathTrail Augusta\" src=\"https:\/\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/-QrUyq3Fwxpo\/WhGmkJy7w9I\/AAAAAAAAGY0\/OcgZEeHQ1s4P1wCL0LbHY86fbHGzDMO-gCHMYCw\/TowpathTrail%2BAugusta_thumb%255B2%255D?imgmax=800\" alt=\"TowpathTrail Augusta\" width=\"575\" height=\"704\" align=\"left\" \/><\/a>We picked up this map of the bike paths, which are mostly hard packed dirt. <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\">On Saturday morning we headed over to the Headgates where there is plenty of parking, since hundreds of people seem to love to come here to rent bikes or kayaks and jog on the trails.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\">We biked along the Towpath Trail to Mill Village and then tried the River Levee Trail which ends at a steep suspension bridge.
